exmouth cinema, thursday 24th feb – moulin rouge

We are excited to show the 2001 film Moulin Rouge for our next Cinema Night on Thursday 24th February.

A jukebox musical romantic drama film directed, co-produced, and co-written by Baz Luhrmann. It stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. John Leguizamo, Jim Broadbent, and Richard Roxburgh feature in supporting roles. Christian, a young writer with a magical gift for poetry, defies his bourgeois father by moving to the bohemian underworld of Montmartre, Paris. He is taken in by the absinthe- soaked artist Toulouse- Lautrec, whose party- hard life centres around the Moulin Rouge, a world of sex, drugs, electricity and the shocking Can-Can. Christian falls into a passionate but ultimately doomed love affair with Satine, the Sparkling Diamond, the most beautiful courtesan in Paris and star of the Moulin Rouge.

We also journey to the streets of Paris with some French inspired specials, with French Onion Soup, Mushroom Bourguignon and Tart Tatin to name a few. Book a table to dine with us before the movie starts at 8pm.
