Our movie this February is Joker, an American pyschological thriller based on DC Comics characters and provides a possible origin story.

Produced by Todd Phillips, and starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker it is the film with the most nominations in this year’s Oscars.

The story is about Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian who seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks; the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he’s part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Definitely not for the faint-hearted; we can’t wait.
