cheltenham & gloucester beer week, sept 14th to 23rd

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate all things beer! Well why wouldn’t you? Cheltenham & Gloucester Beer Week (CGBW) returns for the third year running and runs across a ten-day period from 14th – 23rd September.

We continue to showcase the very best of Arkell’s and Donnington ales for CGBW, plus we’ll be serving up our special Exmouth Beer Burger, made with the delicious Arkell’s 3B, for just £10 for the duration of the event

On Saturday 15th September we will once again join up with our sister pubs; the Royal and the Strand, for the return of the Barking Mad Ale Trail.  Visit each of the three pubs and complete some fun challenges (the ‘Mad’ part) and buy a half pint of beer.  Along the route between the pubs pick up some fiendish (not really) clues, then finish back where you started and you’ll be rewarded with a gold star and a smile and go on then; a free pint of beer! You’ll also be entered in to our prize draw to win some great giveaways including a meal for two. The ‘Barking’ bit? Bring along your dog and he/she will be rewarded with a bottle of dog beer especially for them! And all proceeds from the sale of our Dog Beer will go to Cheltenham Animal Shelter.

Do you know; Pizza alone won’t fill the emptiness of your soul! No, you also need beer! Therefore join us for Pizza & Beer on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd from 5pm when we will match the perfect Arkell’s pint to the perfect pizza. And at just £10, your soul will be uplifted.

In traditional exmouth style we’ll be finishing off the week on Sunday 23rd September with a quiz, but this isn’t just any quiz, oh no, this is the Big Beer Inter Pub Challenge Quiz! You’ll not only be competing against those in the exmouth, but those players in the Royal too. The team who scores the most points across the two pubs takes home all of the beer related prizes and gains the winning pub the bragging rights. Last year we romped home with the prize (OK it was a rather close and controversial win, but we’ll go with romped). So, come on, prove that the exmouth has, once again, the very best of quiz brains. (Usual £1 entry fee per person, teams up to 6 people, and nibbles provided at half-time)
